Loake Shoes
The Loake shoemaking tradition began in 1880 when brothers Thomas, John and William Loake opened a factory in Northamptonshire in the heart of the English shoemaking industry. The aim was to provide the most handsome, comfortable and durable gentlemen's shoes possible. The three Loake brothers were among the first to see the benefits in bringing some of the most highly-skilled shoemakers in the area together under one roof, each man with his own bench and set of tools, working together to produce shoes of exceptional quality.
The present factory, in Wood Street, Kettering, was built by the Loake brothers in 1894. Today, five generations later, Loakes continue to be family owned and to pride themselves on the outstanding quality that only traditional skills and a family heritage can achieve.
Loake 1880
No detail has been compromised in Loake Brothers' premium range of luxurious and elegant bench made footwear, produced using time-honoured shoemaking techniques that can be traced back more than 120 years. Loakes select only the very best hand burnished calf leather to ensure this is an example of Goodyear Welted footwear at its finest.

The original moccasin, a shoe invented by American Indians, was made from heavy hide. Loakes prefer soft Nappa leathers and suedes.
