Here are listed shoes and boots that are in some way or another of inferior quality to what might be expected from a new pair of shoes. Generally any 'defect' will be very minor indeed; and it will mean that, after a few hours of wear, no significant difference to a new pair of shoes will be noticed.

The usual examples of what we regard as 'seconds' are:

1. Shoes with scratched or scuffed soles or mildly creased uppers (usually extremely minor and caused by the shoes having been tried on by another customer).

2. Shoes that have been lying on the shelves for a considerable amount of time. The style has probably been discontinued a year or two ago or the style is no longer manufactured in this particular width fitting.

We never 'buy in' footwear from manufacturers that have known defects ie what are generally known as 'seconds'.

If a pair of shoes or boots is showing more than 'superficial damage', that will be stated clearly and/or illustrated for that particular pair of shoes, in order that a reasonably informed purchasing decision can be made.
