Security Issues As we all know, with fraud and identity theft being ubiquitous in this day and age, security is absolutely paramount, especially where debit cards and credit cards are involved.
Some security issues have been covered on our Privacy page; but the main issues surrounding the use and storage of debit and credit card information are covered in the section directly below.
Furthermore, all storage media used by BrogueShoes.co.uk, including hard drives and other storage media are thoroughly wiped to Military standards and then destroyed to prevent reuse.
Credit Cards and Debit Cards We never hold any credit or debit card details:
For orders placed online we never see these, as they are processed directly by Protx, a division of Sage (UK) Limited, and HSBC Bank plc. For telephone orders, we input the card details straight into the Protx system on a secure network - they are never written down by members of BrogueShoes staff or stored on our own computer system.
All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed, using 128-bit encryption. As payment is made directly on the Protx secure website, BrogueShoes.co.uk/Mackie & Co Limited never captures or processes your credit card details on our web site. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
